The new-generation 2023 Toyota GR86 is a more focused and angry sports car than the first-gen – but does that make it better?
It has been to the Toyota GR school of hard knocks, where the new Series 2 hachi-roku model has been made to be more assertive, more sporty, considerably faster and arguably a lot more convincing as a sports car than ever before.
Those changes have come at the expense of a few things, though. The last one was nicer to live with, with a smoother ride being the biggest difference. This new one is harder, harsher and more aggressive than the first take on the 86 (known as GT86 is some markets).
Prices are up by some big margins, too – and in this review, Matt Campbell helps you figure out whether the extra money is worth it or not.
