My 2022 Toyota GR86 has served me well for the last year and a half. I loved this platform and remained loyal after driving my Scion FR-S for nine and a half years. However, after being on this platform for over a decade, it’s now finally time for me to move on. While this is one of, if not the best beginner sports car that can be used as a tool to teach you driving dynamics and improve your driver skill in a highly engaging, rewarding capacity that is still incredibly practical and safe, this is no longer the car for me. I’m now in my 30s, my priorities are now different than when I was in my 20s, and my experience with cars and disposable income are also very different now than they were back then. Here’s why I’m getting rid of my GR86 and what I’m planning on replacing it with.
